They say necessity is the mother of invention, and that’s exactly how Jessica’s began. In 2009, I started baking gluten-free granola for my husband, who missed granola after giving up gluten. As an avid baker and former engineer, I loved experimenting in the kitchen, tweaking recipes, and finding delicious new ways to bring simple ingredients together.
What started from a homemade recipe and is now enjoyed nationwide still stays true to our passion for creating food that tastes as good as homemade, crafted with pure, wholesome ingredients. Every bag of Jessica’s Granola is baked at a low temperature in small batches to bring out its sweet, crunchy texture and big, snackable cookie-inspired clusters. My granola is gluten-free certified (GFCO), non-GMO project verified, and kosher (OU D), and always free from artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives.
Inspired by my family and my love of chocolate, we’ve always strived to be innovators in the granola market. To our knowledge, we were the very first to bring a gluten-free oat-based granola to shelves. We also introduced some of the first unique flavors like Chocolate Chip granola with chocolate baked right into the clusters, Chocolate Hazelnut granola inspired by everyone’s favorite hazelnut spread, and Butterscotch Chip granola, created from my childhood love of Oatmeal Scotchies cookies. Since I’m not a coffee drinker, a little chocolate in my granola is my favorite way to start the day!
A few years later, I developed our gluten-free flour blend and baking mixes. I wanted healthier options than the starch-heavy products on the market, so we turned to nutrient-dense teff, oats, and flax to create mixes that are wholesome, delicious, and easy to make at home.
As a 100% women-owned and run, WBENC-certified business, we’re committed to making food that is naturally good. And our mission goes beyond food — we give back by donating 5% of our profits to non-profit organizations, including the Celiac Disease Foundation, Impact100, Gleaners Food Bank, Brilliant Detroit, and more. At Jessica’s, our goal is simple: to bring joy to everyday moments with naturally good food, one crunchy, sweet cluster at a time.
Today, I’m still that same home baker who loves using pure, simple ingredients to create food with love. I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported this journey and believed in our vision. I hope our granola and mixes bring joy to your table, just as they do to mine.
